Each of the links in the list below connects to a PDF home page instead of a conventional HTML website. These business owners used the PDF format because it was the quickest, easiest and least expensive way for them to get their sales, educational or technical information online. Review these sites to see if any are similar to your situation.

Sample PDF Websites

The Pure Water Stop Retail Store www.DSPureWater.com
This is the home page of a site created for the owners of a retail business in a small town. They have an excellent store location so everyone in town knows where they are but they never got around to creating an online presence. They didn’t want to hire a webmaster to create a slick, multi-page website because it seemed like unnecessary overkill. All they wanted was to get their information online to let the community know exactly what they offer, when they’re open, how to contact them and more details on their water filtering process. They got the job done over a couple of days with minimum distraction from their business routine and spent only a few hundred dollars. This was much better than spending a couple of thousand dollars going ‘round and ‘round with a web designer endlessly tweaking all the design details.

Belief Expert Sole Practitioner www.BeliefExpert.com
Kathleen Fors is a belief expert. She’s very good at quickly changing harmful beliefs that interfere or block progress in the lives of her clients. For sole practitioners like Kathleen, marketing can be a daunting challenge. By choosing to use an inexpensive PDF website, she was able to devote the lion’s share of her budget where it would do the most good: hiring a professional copywriter to create the best possible content on her site and starting up a social media campaign to get the word out. Because PDF pages can be printed on any computer, her two-page site also serves as a hard copy brochure for any visitor who clicks the “Print this document” link at the bottom of her page.

Martins Irrigation Irrigation Supply Company www.MartinsIrrigation.com
The owner of this company wanted a simple website to present their information online. Rather than engage a webmaster and go through all the decisions and expense that process required, they hired a graphic designer to essentially create a multi-page online brochure. He sent the PDF pages to us. We created all the links to connect the pages and loaded the files onto the web. This customer got what he needed in days rather than months and at much lower cost.

My Mineral DepotNetwork Marketer www.MyMineralDepot.com
This woman is a multi-level marketer in the vitamin/supplements field. She needed a convenient way to not only educate people about her main product (liquid minerals), but she also wanted a tool to show people interested in the business opportunity how easy it’ll be for them to spread the word and grow their own sales volume. We used existing company text to create the content, but added a headline and subhead to turn it into an educational sales letter. We also designed a new sales-oriented business card for her to hand out. The call to action on this new card directs people to her landing page. The card/landing page combination is her complete marketing system. Now, she doesn’t have to worry about forgetting any part of her sales pitch. All she has to do now is hand out her card and let it take over from there. Click here to see her business card.

Interface FinancialCash Flow Consultant www.InvoiceCashFlow.com
This business owner already had use of a personalized company website, but she wanted a more focused and personal message for prospecting purposes. Her business is purchasing invoices from small and medium size companies to improve their cash flow. She wanted a dedicated online page to educate her online visitors on the features and benefits of her service. Existing language from a company tri-fold brochure was adapted and edited to create a sales letter format for a more personal tone. A headline, a subhead and a call to action were added to complete the sales theme of the letter. An existing company logo was also included.

A2Z Color PrintingPrinting Company www.a2zcolorprinting.com
This customer owns a printing business. He wanted to promote and display his many product offerings online. Using a conventional website to design and layout all the pages required to cover everything he offers would cost a small fortune and take months. He’s also a graphic designer, so he worked up an overall design theme, created all of the individual pages, including navigational links. When he sent us the final PDF files, we set up the links and uploaded the pages to our system. The site contains over fifty pages, but the job was done in days instead of months. Each page represents a category of products and can be printed just as it appears online. That means each printed page is actually a full color brochure for that particular product.

Iwanit DealerManufacturer www.IwanitDealer.com
A manufacturer of pool maintenance products wanted to have a single, online page available for its dealers to view and print. Viewed online, each of the five product descriptions has two related links. One link goes to a one-page sell sheet so dealers can either display it online or print it out. The other product link goes to a video of the product in use. This dealer page is especially useful when talking to prospective customers on the phone. If the customer is in front of a computer, the dealer can walk him or her through a “demonstration” of each product. Dealer feedback about this page has been good, since typing in the domain name takes their audience straight to the product information with zero navigation hassles. This page and the company website were designed by the same graphic artist.

Compliments of YoungevityRetail Store www.OldTownHealth.com
This site was built for a retail nutritional supplement business. The purpose of this site is to reach out to their extensive list of existing and past customers to educate them and motivate them to maintain their regimen of monthly purchases for optimum health. They chose to highlight several of their most popular products. Each of the items described on the main page has a link another page or other locations on the web to learn more. This main page can be printed out to do double duty as a paper brochure in their store as well as being sent out as an email attachment.

Carmel Valley Kiwanis Non-Profit Organization www.cvkClub.com
A local Kiwanis chapter needed to change their online approach, so they elected to create a PDF website to replace their conventional website since it was becoming too burdensome for their volunteer webmaster. A graphic artist created the overall design theme and also installed the text content. There are about twenty pages on this site. They present several fund-raiser events during the year and their visitors like to print the pages so they have the information in hand. To update their content, they provide the new information to the designer. He makes the changes then sends the new PDF pages to us for uploading to their account on our server. Their membership has praised this new design for being easy to navigate and understand.

Fresh Start Fitness Personal Trainer www.freshstartfitnesscarmel.com
Heidi Markow is a sole practitioner personal trainer who wanted to get online but didn’t know where to start. Her needs were basic, so she was reluctant to go to a webmaster for a conventional website because of all the time and expense such projects require. Instead, she asked a graphic artist to create a single-page brochure. He them converted it to PDF format and sent the file to us for posting online. She now has two additional individual pages (testimonials and fitness tip) that we linked from her home page. We update her fitness tip periodically.

Fred CarvelArtist www.fredcarvell.com
Even though he’s represented by several art galleries, Fred Carvell wanted a simple, inexpensive online presence with his own identity. He made this page in MS Word in a single evening and we converted it to a PDF file, uploaded it onto the Web and attached his domain name. If he decides he needs a more extensive display of his work, he can easily expand to more PDF pages or convert to a conventional website. In the meantime, he has expended very little time and money to get his work displayed online.

NSGW 97 Non-Profit Organization www.NSGW97.com
The Native Sons of the Golden West is a non-profit service organization. Their main purpose is to preserve California’s history, which they’ve been doing since 1875. They have over two hundred “parlors” or chapters around the state. This parlor, having no online presence at all, wanted to change that but didn’t want to hire a webmaster to create a conventional website. Instead, they created a main page in Microsoft Word with graphics and photographs then sent it to us. There are links to two other pages related to their local activities and one link to their main website. Their calendar & news page is updated periodically.

Vision Plantscaping Landscaping Company www.VisionPlantscaping.com
This page is experimental. The owner of this company commissioned the creation of a full-page magazine ad to promote her business. The ad turned out so well that she entertained thoughts of using it for the home page on her existing website. As a test, we converted the original artwork from .jpg graphic format to a PDF, uploaded the page and mapped a single link to her existing HTML website.
